About Chris Burton

Chris Burton Expressing my creativity through the mediums of mixed-media and painting is my clear passion in life, as well as inspiring others as they learn to explore their own creativity through visual art! I love my role as catalyst in this process ---- truly Art is the Life Energy of the Soul.

My paintings are primarily abstract expressionism, which allow me to bring forth an emotion or express a feeling that otherwise resides deep within. The story others see in my paintings may or may not reflect my intentions, which is really what art is about. I find others interpretations fascinating!

My artistic education includes a BFA in Commercial Design, which initially led me to a career as an art director for many years. As a fine artist I’ve exhibited my paintings and mixed-media art throughout the St. Louis area, through my affiliations with ArtFiber St. Louis, the Weaver's Guild of St. Louis, Gateway Gallery, Chesterfield Arts among other venues.

In addition, I have taught art classes for the past 10 years to students through the Foundry Art Centre, St. Charles, MO, Chesterfield Arts, and St. Louis Community College. My current path includes designing Collaborative Art programs through my business Painted Path.
